Nothing beats a vase full of freshly picked homegrown flowers, but whether you opt for a wild rambling creation or a formal one, your vase can make or break it. Have a selection of vases of varying shapes, sizes and materials on hand, including glass, metal, ceramic, tall, short and wide. As a rule of thumb, the length of the flower stems should be no more than one and a half to two times the height of a vase. Fill the vase three-quarters fill with fresh, warm water.
