NZ Gardener - Gifts from the Gardens - - Natural Gifts -

This salve is excellent for rashes, sores, cuts and burns. First make calendula-infused oil. Fill a jar with fresh (wilted for 12 hours) or dried calendula petals. Top with olive oil. Cap, then place jar in a warm room out of direct sunlight for 4-6 weeks. Shake once a day. Strain through muslin, pour into a glass bottle and label. To make salve, place 15g beeswax and 100ml calendula oil in a double boiler. Heat on low until beeswax melts. Remove from the heat. Add 20 drops lavender essential oil when the temperature drops below 40ºC. Pour into jars.
