MY MONSTER PARSNIP SUCCESS!
Just last week I harvested a prize-winning parsnip weighing in at just under 2kg, at 1700gm. Can anyone beat that? I have been vegetable gardening for 28 years and never grown a parsnip this size. It’s been delicious eating – mainly roasted. I sowed my own saved seed in August (while the soil was cool). This giant parsnip received boiling water on the seed drill (right on seeds) then covered and sprinkled with cold water covered with a plank to keep moist. My fertiliser regime is organic too.
