Trillium chloropetalum

NZ Gardener - - In Season -

The leaves and petals of the so-called wake-robin are grouped in threes and this woodland bulb needs plenty of summer moisture and good, rich soil to succeed. The ruff of leaves are nearly as amazing as the flower itself and a long-established colony will take your breath away. The flowers are burgundy, sometimes muddy and occasionally white. Wake Robin Nursery near Balchutha sometimes have these delicate woodlanders in stock.
