Feed citrus trees (but don’t prune).

NZ Gardener - - What To Show & Plant This Month ... -

Give those hard-working citrus trees a handful of citrus-specific fertiliser now. Just scatter it under the tree, out to the dripline, and water it in well. You can also give these gross feeders (aka greedy guts!) a mulch of nourishing sheep pellets and apply an organic spraying oil to tackle sap-sucking pests like scale and mealybug. But don’t try to thin congested growth or prune to shape your citrus now. Between August and April, the native lemon tree borer is active and will scent the sap of any newly cut branches from miles away.
