1. CAULIFLOWER ALTAIR F1
Altair F1 is a hybrid cauliflower from Enza Zaden, best suited to winter and early spring harvest . Altair F1 is a medium to large framed variety with an exceptionally good swirling wrap. The well protected curds are domed and very white with good weights. It has good leaf disease resistance and uniform maturity.
2. LETTUCE - SALANOVA © EXAM RZ (79-10)AND EXAUDIO RZ (79 – 43)
One of our new lettuce varieties from Rijk Zwaan is a Salanova crispy type with the “Knox” trait. Salanova © Exam RZ gives the advantage of delayed pinking which results in an extended shelf life and an improved consumer experience. Salanova © Exam RZ (79-10) is a dark green, high yielding variety ideal for processing in salad mixes. Leaf characteristics include a rounded mid rib and deeply incised leaf with a small stem scar. Resistance package is HR Bl:16-32/Nr:0 IR LMV:1 Salanova © Exaudio RZ (79-43) is a dark green crispy type with very compact habit but high processing yields of leaves with very uniform leaf length. This variety is very slow to stretch, holding its leaf size in spec for longer. Very slow bolting with short round core. Suitable for growing outdoors and in hydro for most of the year. 3. SWEETCORN SUPERSWEET SH2 BI-COLOUR VARIETIES; BUFFALO AND SPRINGFIELD PLUS
Buffalo is the first of two new sweetcorn new supersweet SH2 bi-colour varieties. It shows early maturity, 4 to 5 days earlier than Springfield, in early season plantings. This along with the with it’s strong vigour makes Buffalo an ideal variety to start the season with. Very good cob length averaging 20 to 21 cm. Dark green husks with excellent cob protection over well filled tips. Springfield Plus is a “Springfield” type with rust resistance. This variety shows very attractive, cylindrical cobs with well filled tips. Dark green husks with good husk extension. High yielding with medium early maturity.
4. CUCUMBER TANTALOS RZ
Tantalos RZ (24-220) is the dependable choice for your spring, summer and autumn cucumber crops. This powerful variety has performed well in New Zealand, showing extra vigour and producing plenty of good quality fruits. When the going gets tough, powdery mildew and mycosphaerella are seen at much lower levels. Your yield is boosted by better plant survival rates together with higher fruit production. With this variety you’ll see dark green leaves, sturdy stems and long, dark green, high quality fruits. The plant has excellent longevity and a high level of resistance to powdery mildew.
5. CAPSICUM NESBIT RZ
Nesbit RZ (35-189) is a beautiful red capsicum with excellent fruit quality, very high yield and a strong canopy suited to NZ conditions. Fruits are shiny and bright red with a consistent blocky shape. Average fruit weight 210 g. The plant is compact and easy to balance. Resistances: HR Tm:0-3
6. TOMATO PRODEZO RZ
Large loose or truss tomato newcomer Prodezo RZ gives you a strong plant that you can rely on in summer and run faster in winter to pick mature fruit sooner. Winter fruit shape is consistently round, giving you better quality fruit when the prices are most rewarding. In summer Prodezo RZ will consistently give you excellent fruit shape, fruit numbers and good fruit size as it sets very well in the heat. Yield is excellent, and can be better than the current standard. The plant is easy to read, so you always know where you are in terms of plant balance and which growing strategy you need to follow. Consumers will love buying fruit with brix 10-30% above the current standard (as measured in New Zealand conditions). The fruit shape is a pleasing flat round, and the truss has a joint giving you a distinction in the market and a harvest choice. This variety is in commercial production in Europe. Average fruit weight 150 g. Intermediate resistance to powdery mildew.
