For the past 28 years I have worked as a self­em­ployed agron­o­mist pro­vid­ing in­de­pen­dent soil fer­til­ity ad­vice to ap­prox­i­mately 450 clients trad­ing as Agro­nomic Ad­vi­sory Ser­vices. I send my soil sam­ples to Brook­side Lab­o­ra­to­ries in Ohio and cur­rently do plant tis­sue test­ing through Hill Lab­o­ra­to­ries in Hamil­ton. Prior to this I worked for MAF Re­search di­vi­sion as a field tech­ni­cian in the Agron­omy sec­tion of Whatawhata Hill Coun­try Re­search Sta­tion for 8 years (19791986) af­ter grad­u­at­ing from Lin­coln Col­lege with a Diploma in Agri­cul­ture (1977) and Diploma in Field Tech­nol­ogy (1978). I am cur­rently a mem­ber of the New Zealand So­ci­ety of Soil Sci­ence, the New Zealand In­sti­tute of Agri­cul­tural and Hor­ti­cul­tural Sci­ence, the New Zealand Grass­land As­so­ci­a­tion, The Bri­tish So­ci­ety of Soil Sci­ence, the In­sti­tute of Pro­fes­sional Soil Sci­en­tists and the Brook­side So­ci­ety of Pro­fes­sional Con­sul­tants.
