Following an extremely wet autumn and winter in many areas, we are seeing soil nutrients at lower than normal level, particularly nitrogen and sulphate.

The wet conditions have also depleted levels of trace elements, particularly boron, iron and molybdenum. The Ballance Yaramila fertilizer range available through Farmlands, provides all major nutrients, along with some trace elements and is ideal for high value horticultural crops. They are suitable for a variety of uses including before, during and after sowing. These products are also free flowing and easy to handle and spread. A range of soluble products are also available to correct trace element deficiencies.

One example is Grochem Trace-it Total, a complete micronutrient product for the prevention and correction of trace element deficiencies, which can be applied as a foliar spray or through fertigation.

The Campbells Trace-it range covers individual trace element requirements, where deficiencies are known from past experience, or are identified by a foliar analysis through a diagnostic laboratory such as Hill Laboratories. Advice regarding the selecting of leaves for analysis and also the dispatch to Hill Laboratories, can be provided by Farmlands.
