A FRESH TAKE

NZ House & Garden - - BEHIND THE SCENES - PHOTOGRAPH: TESS A CHR ISP STYLING: RICHARD BRUNTON Glass jug and bottle from French Country Collections CREDITS:

How ironic that “fresh” is how art director Richard Brunton describes this issue’s cover image, considering the home started life as a piggery. You can still see some glimpses of those days throughout the house, such as concrete pillars, repurposed doors and windows, and rustic wooden beams. While those massive bifolds drench the room in light and lure us outdoors, it’s the small details that charm: timber inlaid floors, brass feet on the table, and wheaten terrier Peppe Le Poo adding a friendly face. “It’s simple, low-fuss and close to nature,” says Richard.
