Past: Carolyn Robert­son started her ca­reer as a press pho­tog­ra­pher, cov­er­ing ev­ery­thing from moun­tain­top res­cues to spend­ing an af­ter­noon with Jamie Oliver. Per­haps Jamie was the in­spi­ra­tion for the move to food pho­tog­ra­phy? For this is­sue, she shot and styled Ruth Pretty’s mouth­wa­ter­ing fes­tive food spread, That’s the spirit. (See page 112.)

Present: Carolyn loves the cre­ative heart and soul of Welling­ton, which is where she is based. Liv­ing among the tuis and wood pi­geons in­spires her to en­joy life’s lit­tle mo­ments, as do sum­mer days spent in the pool and cook­ing for her hus­band Jeff and daugh­ter Frankie.

Fu­ture: Carolyn is cur­rently work­ing on a large project based in Auck­land, which is teach­ing her more life les­sons about jug­gling work and fam­ily. She ap­pre­ci­ates the im­por­tance of be­ing a good mum and be­lieves hav­ing a ca­reer she loves and work­ing with peo­ple who in­spire her en­riches life’s bal­ance. In Welling­ton, she is look­ing for­ward to pho­to­graph­i­cally sup­port­ing Welling­ton’s Pome­gran­ate Kitchen, where for­mer refugees are em­ployed to share their cook­ing skills.
