this spring (tip: it’s al­ways best to get two) make sure you have a plan for where to put them when you get them home. You’ll want a sturdy pen/cage where they will be se­cure while they get used to you, their new feed and new sur­round­ings over a few days be­fore you let them out, prefer­ably into an elec­tric fenced-line area. This helps you to avoid fran­tic piglets belt­ing around the neigh­bour­hood at ran­dom for days. A good pig shel­ter has shade, so a pig can get out of the sun and avoid sun­burn. Also, pigs don’t sweat, so a cool area is vi­tal.
