Do you use traps?
There have been concerns about the use of some traps and other devices for a long time. Most are used by hunters or those working in pest management.
The sale and use of leg-hold (gin) traps and glueboard traps for trapping animals is restricted in New Zealand under the Animal Welfare Act 1999.
The Act also requires capture traps to be checked daily. There are also requirements on the treatment and killing of trapped animals. Read more about the use of traps: www.mpi.govt.nz/protection-and-response/animal-welfare/trapsand-devices/
