This is not your usual perfectly executed image with awesome composition and great use of the available light, but that doesn’t mean the image is any less striking. With the summer roadie season upon us, we thought it would serve as a good reminder to slow down and and take it easy out there. It was captured by Glen Perry, who came across the crash site early in the morning, and thankfully the occupants — who had fled the scene — survived. But the poor Prelude would certainly never see another road trip after being split in half by a power pole. “Speed is the likely cause as the car has rounded a left-hand bend, spun and launched over a kerb, slid sideways for 80 metres then collected a power pole and, well, the pictures tell the rest,” Perry explained. So just remember to slow down out there, and keep the racing on the track.
