Ken Block’s wild 4WD Mustang wasn’t rivalled by many builds, in terms of all-out craziness, but one to happily hold its own was the Roadster Shop-built Rampage Camaro. Unlike Ken’s Ford, the Camaro featured some of the highest-quality fit and finish, at a level the world has come to expect from the Roadster Shop. Based on a 1970 Camaro, the body is primarily made of carbon, with custom (extremely wide) overfenders, rear wing, custom front splitter, rear diffusers, bonnet and boot. The 559kW (750hp) LS7 features a Harrop crossram intake and horizontally mounted Jerico five-speed dog box (it’s mounted like this as the Camaro is so damn low). The chassis is a complete one-off box chassis with mandrel-bent RHS rails, custom tubular double A-arms and horizontally mounted Penske coilovers operated by custom billet bellcranks. The wheels are two-piece Jongbloed 305-Aeros with massive 335/30-18 Hoosiers front and rear. The interior is all race, featuring a MoTeC-controlled MoTeC display, plenty of custom billet components , Kiwimade Racetech seats, and carbon fibre panels. The car itself might not be your style, but imagine transferring that level of build onto any Japanese chassis.
