The 2015 V 4&Rotary Nationals South Island Champs had better watch out next time around, because 20-year-old Chevenne Hassan is building this super-clean Nissan Silvia S15, something which has only been a dream until now. Chevenne originally purchased the car completely factory, as she explains. “The reason for buying standard is that I always wanted to start fresh with a car that has been untouched.” After she was handed the keys, the build initially progressed slowly until Chevenne landed a job at an automotive parts supplier in Christchurch. From here on in, the Silvia was pulled off the road and work began. The SR20DE powerplant was removed to make room for the new Spec R SR20DET, but before this could go in, the engine bay had to be prepped. Unused factory holes were filled and smoothed and the strut towers were seam welded for added rigidity. The motor was prepped for paint, and a coating of Viper purple was laid down. The SR20DET was finally dropped in the hole, along with a replacement turbo and stainless steel exhaust manifold.
Stopping comes thanks to the R32 Skyline brakes with slotted rotors all round. Bride seats have been chosen to spruce up the interior, and a new set of coilovers was installed to wind the S-chassis down. Chevenne plans to have the car fully resprayed in the next couple of months, so come show time it will no doubt look flawless.
