4&ROTARY NATIONALS FORMAT SHAKE-UP
The team behind the biggest automotive event of the year teased that there was change coming — the kind of change we haven’t seen in the event’s 22-year span. “We got this far by continuously evolving, bringing new ideas and features to the table. No one wants to see the same old thing year after year … the game change is here,” said Azhar Bhamji.
That game-changer will see the 2018 V 4&Rotary Nationals formatted to take place over two weekends (27–28 January 2018 and 14 April 2018). It will be business as usual on Saturday at ASB Showgrounds for the show and shine, alongside the regular New Zealand Lowrider Nationals, NAC Action Arena, Dyno Shootout, Pac Performance Rotary Only Hall, New Zealand Promo Model Search, etc., but, for the first time ever, the party will shift over to Pukekohe Park Raceway on Sunday for a Chrome-style bash. Cruising, roll racing, drifting, drags, hardpark, burnouts, and power skids — all the good stuff.
But the drag racers haven’t been cut out, with a dedicated date in April to ensure that what has been a mainstay of the event for 22 years doesn’t fade away. “The reason for the swap is simple. Chrome Expression Session has been dominating in popularity over the past few years … and [we wanted to] bring you even more action and entertainment over the event season. We find January is a little too early for all the Pro Import drag racing cars to be hitting the track; therefore, the new April date will be much better suited,” Azhar said.
Nationals entries for all three days are open now, and as always, they’ll sell out like hotcakes — jump onto 4androtary.co.nz to get amongst it.
