New Zealand’s biggest Honda performance-parts supplier, Speed Science, has officially kicked opened the doors to its new showroom in Kumeu, after long outgrowing its old West Auckland premises. Started in 2013 by self-confessed Honda head Adam Plews, who many will remember from his earlier shop, FBI, Speed Science has grown to become the largest local stockist of Honda performance parts, with over 300 brands and 5000 parts on the shelf here in New Zealand and ready to ship. The extensive range covers just about every brand under the sun that’s worth knowing about, and also includes a bunch of products developed by Speed Science and produced locally.
Although predominantly a Honda specialist, the boys are not confined to selling Honda parts. Utilizing their distribution deals with many major players in the aftermarket industry, they can import just about anything you might need, no matter your chassis of choice. The new premises boast a showroom, storeroom, and of course room for all of Speed Science’s personal project cars. From the RWD DC2 and drag EG, to a bunch of other EG projects that are yet to go under the knife.
Having been in the industry for over a decade now, Adam knows his way around a Honda, especially how to make one go fast, so don’t be shy to ask him for a little advice, as he has been there and done it all before. As always, you can shop online at speedscience.co.nz, or stop instore at Unit 5, 16 Wookey Lane, Kumeu. Over the coming months, Adam will also have a few low-key BBQs on site as a chance to meet up and have a yarn, so keep an eye out for those.
