Fullback Sam Toia may be the only Hamilton BHS front-liner returning for 2015, but the new boys have been groomed and should be ready to mount a staunch defence of the Super 8 title.
“We’ll be okay,” says Hotham. “We’ll definitely win our own ball, though it’s hard to predict strengths and weaknesses with a new squad.”
Young men such as props Oscar Preece and Harrison Courtney will mark up, while No 8 Patrick McCurran continues the family tradition and featured in the Condors in 2014. First five Rameka Poihipi will run the cutter. Sevu Reece will suit up in midfield.
Hotham knows his young side will be the hunted this year. The final against Palmie, won 21-3, was a good example of the side performing well under pressure on their home patch.
