NZ Rugby World - First XV - - AUCKLAND 1A -

In the last five years, St. Kentigern, four-time champions in that period, have shown an admirable ability to re-invent themselves. Granted, the First XV may be well resourced and with a wide recruitment net, but they still must perform with resilience when every school wants to knock them o their pedestal. They somehow found a way to win the 2015 final when battling a crippling injury toll in the backs and a fired-up Auckland Grammar. Now they will build much of their play around goal-kicking halfback Carlos Price and fullback Etene Nanai, one of the best in the final. Up will also step second-five Tanielu Telea, centre Rupena Parkinson, utility Rivez Reihana, flankers Kayleb Milne and Mitch Gibson [younger brother of Blake], props Fa’a Lafaele and Tevita Mafileo, and hooker Sam Toloke. Coach Tai Lavea explains his approach: “We don’t talk about winning championships. If we prepare well individually, it will help the team perform. We don’t talk too much about last year’s team, especially if they’ve done well.”
