[FAST FACTS]

SOARING 60s The 1960s are the most successful decade in All Blacks history. They posted a win ratio of 87 per cent – a number boosted by what was at the time a world record of 17 consecutive test victories. The All Blacks only lost four tests in the entire 10year period.

ON TRACK The current decade is on course to surpass the 60s and post an even better win ratio. The All Blacks have only lost seven tests since 2010 and have also won two World Cups and claimed a world record 18 consecutive test victories.

FADING 40s The 1940s were a decade to forget for the All Blacks. They only played 10 tests because of the war and also found themselves in the peculiar position of having to play Australia in New Zealand while the top All Blacks side was on tour in South Africa. The All Blacks lost the series in South Africa 4-0 and the Wallabies enjoyed a rare 2-0 victory.

THE CENTURY The All Blacks won 100 tests between 2000 and 2009. They have already won 85 so far this decade.

TRY FEST The All Blacks have scored more tries in the professional era than they did in the whole of the amateur era.

DROPPED DECADE The 1980s were the boom time for dropped goals. The All Blacks scored 17 that decade, one more than they did in the 1990s.

IN THE BLACK The All Blacks have had a positive points di erential in every decade they have played tests. Even in the 1940s they still managed to score more points than they conceded.
