THE ALL-NEW LAND ROVER DISCOVERY Td6
LAND ROVER LAUNCHED THE DISCOVERY BACK IN 1989,
with its’ key aim to provide a capable and versatile SUV, whether off-road or in the city. Jumping forward to today and 5 generations later, the All-New Discovery is taking those original characteristics along with several key innovations to new territories.
This vehicle is not only home in the city but, has supreme capability off-road. Land Rover’s Terrain Response systems enable the driver to optimise the engine, gearbox, centre differential and chassis systems to match the demands of the terrain. By selecting an easily identifiable diving mode; General Driving, Sand, Rock Crawl, Grass/Gravel/Snow or Mud & Ruts.
Featuring their latest generation 3.0 litre turbocharged diesel engine, delivering 600Nm of torque and matched with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The Td6 Diesel is capable of refined and smooth, responsive performance and able to go from 0-100kph in 8.1 seconds. That’s impressive for a diesel SUV that weighs 2,298kg! Driving our test vehicle, you notice the immediate delivery of power across all engine speeds and the electronically controlled 8-speed Automatic Transmission provides almost imperceptible gear changes.
This vehicle has a towing capacity up to 3,500kg and several features available to provide effortless towing. With the option of an electrically deployable tow bar, Tow Hitch Assist to make coupling easier and Rear Height Adjust for lowering when hitching or unhitching. The Advanced Tow Assist enables the driver to guide a trailer into position by simply following its path using the rotary knob on the centre console. This is more

intuitive than using the steering wheel because within one field of vision it effectively steers the trailer along the desired path.
The Surround Camera System is also a very handy tool providing complete, all-round views on the high-resolution Touchscreen. Using four digital cameras placed around the Discovery, the system provides an almost complete 360-degree view including a birds-eye overhead view. This is ideal for towing. It also features Trailer Stability Assist which monitors the vehicle to detect movements in the trailer and then uses selective braking to help correct potentially dangerous situations.
Seven full-size seats provide exceptional comfort and versatility. These are divided across three rows and readily deployable. Stadium seating means all passengers can see the road ahead whilst the stepped roof allows for greater headroom in the second and third rows.
With an uncompromised loadspace capacity of over 2000 litres available, including generous underfloor stowage which is ideal for wet gear. Including a first of its kind, the Powered Inner Tailgate which is a hands-free system used to provide a seating and loading platform, while acting as a load retention barrier when the tailgate is open. The Discovery is ideal for those family getaways or boys rugby weekend where you have a lot of luggage to pack and look forward to a long drive.
With other key features including; Permanent 4WD Systems, Hill Descent Control (HDC), All Terrain Progress Control, Electronic Air Suspension with Rear Height Adjust, Command Driving Position with Head-Up Display, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Park Assist and an Activity Key wristband.
