Ireland to be named host of the 2023 World Cup

NZ Rugby World - - Rugby Championship -

The vote for the host of the 2023 World Cup is being done differently this time round. The three bids – Ireland, South Africa and France – have been submitted to an independent evaluation process.

That’s been the case in the past, except this time, the independent evaluators will make a recommendation to the voting members, most of whom say they will be unlikely to go against it.

We suspect that Ireland is going to get the nod. Why? Because it would be further reassurance that smaller countries can still be hosts.

They will actually generate a fair bit of money as their stadia are bigger than most people realise and they are an emerging force in the world game.

And of course, the Irish will be magnificent hosts for six weeks.

GRAND CRAIC Ireland are hoping their reputation as great hosts will win them the 2023 World Cup.
