Three All Blacks Who Advanced

-

1: Brad Weber

The third choice halfback was given a few opportunities to impress off the bench and he did just that. He has genuine pace, a desire to get involved and the confidence to express himself. Was putting real pressure on TJ Perenara for the top side's bench spot.

2: Shannon Frizell

Not initially selected, Frizell was called up when Luke Jacobson was sent home with concussion a week before the tournament started.

He quietly went about his business, playing solidly. Frizell made his tackles, looked to get his hands on the ball when he could and ran hard.

Played well enough to suggest he may become a reasonable prospect at blindside in the next 18 months.

3: Atu Moli

Showed a heap of courage to be able to play for 80 minutes in the heat and humidity of Oita.

The big Chiefs prop wasn't expecting to play for that long and says he kept looking over to the bench to see if his number would come up. But he never gave any impression he was flagging and he looks a decent option to mature into a useful operator at this level.
