another slow cooker recipe

NZ Today - - LETTERS -

What a bloody good mag. It has been given to me as a gift and I have found the articles in it great. Even the ones on game cooking. Pity those that miss out. Then that is life. You can please some but not all.

I have a recipe for you and it is not hard. 500g venision chopped into cubes and thrown into a crock pot. We have a ceramic one and maybe that will be the difference. On top goes four or five carrots diced. Capsicum chopped up on top. A splash of Lea and Perrins Worcestershire Sauce. A cup of Rich Ruby Port. Pepper and salt. Then a shake of coriander (about a teaspoon) and a shake of basil. Maybe a little water but not really needed, then turned on high for an hour or so then left on low.

This should be done in the morning before work. When home late afternoon, thicken it with a sachet of Maggi mushroom soup mix and there it is. Simple and tastes great. Even better the next day. Ted Hay Hariki Beach, Te Kaha BOP PS The Cape from Opotiki around to Gisborne would make a great trip article for you then you could stop off at our place for a cuppa !!!! Ed. Thanks so much for the yummy recipe Ted and for the offer of a cup of tea.
