Beach per­mit re­quired

Auck­land Coun­cil has moved to re­strict ve­hic­u­lar ac­cess to two pop­u­lar beaches, Muri­wai north­west of the city, and Kar­i­oitahi south-west of Waiuku. From Septem­ber 01 any­one op­er­at­ing any type of ve­hi­cle on ei­ther beach must have a per­mit is­sued by coun­cil and that per­mit must be dis­played in the ve­hi­cle or on the driver ( see Tor­queTalk on page 72 for more in­for­ma­tion and dis­cus­sion about the move). To ob­tain a per­mit go to http:// www.auck­land­coun­ EN/ LI­CENCES REG­U­LA­TIONS/DRIV­ING ONBEACHES/ Pages/rules.aspx# ap­ply If you don’t have ac­cess to a com­puter and/or the in­ter­net, Coun­cil ser­vice cen­tre staff can com­plete the online form on your be­half. The online form will gen­er­ate the li­cence which can be printed and pro­vided/posted to the cus­tomer.
