Ford to sell Raptor here?

-

Far from us here at NZ4WD to talk out of school, but word on the street ( or rather, ‘a lit tle birdie told us’) that Ford is set to put a RHD F-150 Raptor on sale here within the next 18 months. Details – obviously – are sketchy because it is top secret but the message we are hearing is that the demand is definitely there and that it is only the details of when, where and how factory-approved RHD models can be sourced and put on a ship that have to be settled. Certainly any decision could not come at a better time with Ranger so dominant in the ute market and competing US marques like Jeep and RAM already having Raptor-size RHD models on sale here. The all-new 2017 F-150 Raptor is also, apparently, a major improvement on previous models with more power and torque, and lower weight through the use of high strength, military grade, aluminium alloy. It also comes with the most advanced powertrain, transfer case and suspension ever in an F-150 with custom-engineered Fox shocks, a unique set of BFGoodrich tyres and the use of Ford’s innovative Terrain Management System which changes between two, fourwheel and AWD modes with terrain-specific powertrain calibrations based on the terrain mode selected. More news on an RHD NZ release as it comes to hand.

 ?? Wish-list topper, Ford’s F-150 Raptor. ??
