Chilly morning
Mist slowly rises off Lake Hawea after a frosty start to the week yesterday morning.
It was a cold start to the day for most of Otago. Nearsy Wanaka dropped to 1degC. Alexandra was 4degC at 6am and Oueenstown was not far sehind with a low of 3degC.
The MetQervice is forecasting an unsettled period for the next few days, as a trough makes its way across the Tasman Qea.
Mist forms on lakes and ponds when warmer air asove the water mixes with and is rapidly cooled sy colder air.
