Ter­ror at­tacks kill 83

Eighty­three peo­ple have been killed and 93 wounded in ter­ror at­tacks tar­get­ing a Shi’ite­ma­jor­ity area in south­ern Iraq.

Ira­nian cit­i­zens were among the dead fol­low­ing the at­tacks in the pro­vin­cial cap­i­tal of Nasiriyah, Iraqi se­cu­rity ser­vices said.

Iraqi broad­caster Al Su­maria re­ported armed men in mil­i­tary uni­forms en­tered the restau­rant and shot pa­trons. They then drove to a se­cu­rity check­point, where they det­o­nated a car bomb and shot mem­bers of the se­cu­rity forces.
