Tapanui dry for a day

THE main water pipeline into Tapanui was broken by contractors yesterday leaving the town without water for several hours.

Clutha District Council service delivery group manager Jules Witt said contractors were repairing a culvert when the main pipeline was ‘‘hit’’ and broken.

It was repaired by 3pm.

The water mains would be flushed and users might experience dirty or discoloured water for a period.
