Strike announcement today

HOSPITAL patients will know this morning whether it will be business as usual on Thursday or whether their appointments and operations will be postponed due to strike action.

Nurses and other healthcare workers voted last week whether to accept a revised offer to settle their longrunning employment contract dispute. The result will be announced at 10am today.

If the offer is rejected, New Zealand Nurses Organisation members are scheduled to strike for 24 hours on Thursday.
