Get rid of the plastic bottles, as well as bags
THERE’S been a lot of talk lately concerning singleuse plastic bags in supermarkets, but nobody has mentioned the other item sold in supermarkets that only has one use, and clogs up the landfills just as much if not more — plastic milk bottles.
Fonterra pushes a clean green image but continues to use oneuse plastic bottles.
Could they not insist on and sell oneuse glass bottles, which could be reused in the manufacture of more glass bottles?
Glass is much easier to recycle than plastic.
If we do not have a manufacturing plant in New Zealand for manufacturing bottles out of old glass, then build one. Why do we have to send it overseas?
