Sofia John­ston (12, left), of St Hilda’s Col­le­giate School, and Zara Ged­des (12), of Dunedin North In­ter­me­di­ate, com­pete in the in­ter­me­di­ate in­di­vid­ual sec­tion dur­ing the 2018 Otago and South­land re­gional aer­o­bics com­pe­ti­tion at the King’s and Queen’s Per­form­ing Arts Cen­tre in Dunedin on Satur­day.

Event or­gan­iser Grace Sael­mans said more than 100 ath­letes com­peted across 28 dif­fer­ent sec­tions — both team and in­di­vid­u­als — dur­ing the two­day com­pe­ti­tion.

Ath­letes of all ages com­peted, Mrs Sael­mans said.

Those who won their sec­tions would go on to com­pete at the New Zealand Chore­ographed Aer­o­bics Fed­er­a­tion’s na­tional cham­pi­onships in Wellington next month, she said.
