More boys for Anglican home

-

The annual report of the Anglican Memorial Home for Boys indicates that as a result of an upgrade to the

drainage system, the home is now ready to receive up to 30 boys — well up from the 11 formerly in residence. The report says the Diocese will recognise that the scope of the work must greatly increase with the passing of the years, and it must be prepared adequately to maintain and extend it. The committee, realising that the financial position demanded urgent attention, set up a strong finance committee with Mr C.W. Rattray as chairman, and giving effect to the committee’s resolutions, he visited Southland. He was thankful to say that there had been a ready and liberal response to his appeal. It was the bounden duty of church people to see that no cases of distress were refused admission. — ODT, 23.10.1920.
