Biden has more funds
WASHINGTON/NEW YORK: Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden’s campaign raised vastly more funds than President Donald Trump’s campaign in early October, leaving the former vicepresident with a major cash advantage.
Biden raised about $US130 million ($NZ195 million) from October 114, about three times the roughly $US44 million raised by Trump’s campaign, according to disclosures to the Federal Election Commission.
Biden spent more than twice as much as Trump did during the period. His advertisements became much more prevalent, costing at least $US127 million, while Trump spent at least $US45 million.
Biden appears poised to outspend Trump in the two weeks before the November 3 election, with $US162 million in the bank compared with Trump’s about $US44 million.
Trump trails Biden in most national public opinion polls but the contest looks closer in several states that could determine the winner. — Reuters
