Prince Oz winds back clock
Racing: Emotions were running high after Prince Oz landed a knockout blow in the Stewards Stakes at Riccarton Park in Christchurch yesterday.
Sent out a $31 chance, the 9yrold wound back the clock to win the $100,000 sprint for a second time.
The first was two years ago when trained by the late Neill Ridley, who died last month.
Prince Oz came from secondlast to win comfortably at his second start for Riccarton trainer Terri Rae.
‘‘It’s a pretty emotional win,’’ winning jockey Terry Moseley said.
Cambridgetrained Hypnos, ridden by Danielle Johnson, was impressive in winning the group 2 Coupland’s Mile. — NZ Racing Desk
