PM’s wedding plans ‘some way off’

-

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says she and partner Clarke Gayford have put together some plans for their wedding day.

However, there is still no indication when the couple will be exchanging vows.

Ms Ardern said earlier this year she and Mr Gayford would not marry before the general election.

With that over, Ms Ardern was quizzed yesterday on whether a date had finally been set.

‘‘Yes, I can tell you that we have some plans. They are some way off.

‘‘We might need to share some of our plans with our family and friends before we do that more widely,’’ she said in New Plymouth.

Ms Ardern and Mr Gayford, who have a daughter, Neve (2), became engaged over Easter last year at Mahia while taking a break at Mr Gayford's family bach.

He proposed to her at the top of a hill with a diplomatic protection squad officer nearby.
