Fertiliser factory
THE Dunedin City Council addressed the problem of the hospital chimney many years ago, but appears to turn a blind eye to the pollution emanating from the Ravensdown fertiliser chimney.
One can only assume that the benefits accruing to the city outweigh any consideration of the risks to residents.
Along with many other commuters, I am very disturbed by the visible fallout blowing on to Ravensbourne properties.
It appears to have been particularly bad the past few weeks, and it can actually be smelled on hair and clothing if you walk in the area.
The recently reported fire in the plant just adds to the general anxiety of the local population.
