National taken to task
Wellington: The National Party is again facing scrutiny for misleading election advertising, after a ruling from the Advertising Standards Authority.
The industry watchdog found the advertisement claiming retirees would pay an extra $140 a week under the Green Party's proposed wealth tax was misleading.
Dunedin climate activist Adam Currie, who brought the complaint, said the advert was ‘‘really harmful’’ and widely seen over the four days it was on Facebook.
National had the opportunity to appeal the decision, as it had done with previous complaints. — RNZ
