3 new cases in quar­an­tine

WELLINGTON: There were three new Covid­19 cases in man­aged iso­la­tion yes­ter­day.

There were no new com­mu­nity cases.

Of the new bor­der cases yes­ter­day:

One per­son ar­rived from Ro­ma­nia (via Qatar and Bris­bane) on Novem­ber 3. They were al­ready in an Auck­land quar­an­tine fa­cil­ity as a con­tact of three pre­vi­ously con­firmed cases. They re­turned a pos­i­tive re­sult to rou­tine day­12 test­ing.

One per­son ar­rived from Dubai last Sun­day. They re­turned a pos­i­tive re­sult to rou­tine day­3 test­ing and are be­ing trans­ferred to an Auck­land quar­an­tine fa­cil­ity.

One per­son ar­rived from Qatar via Bris­bane on Tues­day. They re­turned a pos­i­tive re­sult to rou­tine day­3 test­ing and are be­ing trans­ferred to an Auck­land quar­an­tine fa­cil­ity.

There are no new re­cov­ered cases, meaning there are 40 ac­tive cases of Covid­19 in New Zealand.

The last re­ported com­mu­nity case was last Sun­day. That per­son was a close con­tact of a fe­male Auck­land Uni­ver­sity of Tech­nol­ogy stu­dent who con­tracted the in­fec­tion from the first De­fence Force worker who fell ill. They were al­ready in a quar­an­tine fa­cil­ity when they tested pos­i­tive.
