Anzac Day commemorations taking place around the country include 75 services across Auckland this Tuesday. Papakura will hold a 6am dawn service and a 9am civic service. At the start of the dawn service, veterans will march at 5:45am from the Papakura Police Station, Wood Street to the PapakuraWar Memorial Cenotaph on the corner of Great South Rd and Opaheke Rd.Roads will be closed on Great South Rd (from Nelson St to Averill St), Opaheke Rd (from Chapel St to Great South Rd), Wellington St (from Great South Rd to East St), Wood St (from Railway St West to East St). The Drury service will be held at 11am at the Drury War Memorial on Tui St. The Clevedon service begins at the monument at the corner of Monument Rd and Papakura-Clevedon Rd at 9.30am, where there will be a wreath laying ceremony and the reading of the names of the town’s war dead. Roads will be closed on Papakura Clevedon Rd (between Hyde Rd & Monument Rd) from 8.30am until 10am. The Waiau Pa service begins at 10.30am at the Waiau Pa Hall and participants will march to the town’s memorial.
