Hector’s Restau­rant in Auck­land’s Her­itage Ho­tel is cel­e­brat­ing World Ve­gan Day a lit­tle bit ear­lier this year by host­ing an eight-course de­gus­ta­tion din­ner at the end of this month. The restau­rant, led by chef Ger­rard O’keefe, has been cham­pi­oning meat-free al­ter­na­tives for a long time, of­fer­ing an ex­ten­sive ve­gan menu since 2011.
