1.I shut down the wifi in the evening. Teens run out of data quick so it means they have to find something else to do apart from be­ing on their de­vices.

2.When we're at the din­ner ta­ble or hav­ing a catch up, our phones are away – we stay fully present in the con­ver­sa­tion, even if our phones are go­ing off!

3.I get the boys to read phys­i­cal books for at least 22 min­utes a day – the av­er­age length of an episode of one of their favourite TV shows.

4.Hav­ing a con­ver­sa­tion with your kids about cy­ber­bul­ly­ing is the best way to give them sup­port. Let them know you're there for them and will do what you can to help them out.

5.Keep up to date with tech­nol­ogy – get to know what your kids are using and do­ing on­line. It means you can ac­tu­ally talk to them about it all.
