Country Roads in Te Aroha

When you think of country roads, the classic hit of Country Music legend John Denver automatica­lly comes to mind.

So it’s only fitting that for Te Aroha Country Music Club’s monthly club day, Country Roads will be their guest artists.

Country Roads is a country music band that is made up of two couples who have been playing together for around 12 years.

The band is Graeme (Hank) Austin, Barbara Austin, Morley Harding and Owen Harding.

On Sunday August 28, Country Roads will be entertaini­ng at the Te Aroha Country Music Club’s monthly meeting.

They get around in their caravans and enjoy travelling to different country music weekends and Motorhome Rallies to play their music.

Most years Country Roads performs at the Marton Country Music Festival and other similar festivals and this is what members agree is a highlight for them.

Te Aroha Country Music Club secretary Janice Colhoun said everyone is welcome at the club day on Sunday August 28, held at the Catholic Hall, Whittaker St, Te Aroha.

The door fee is $4 for club members and $5 for non members with a start time of 12pm.

Cups of tea or coffee will be available when you arrive, and a delicious afternoon tea is provided at half time.
