The BELFOR AUTO 1 Mor­rinsville Year 5 Rep Team played Te Awa­mutu first up. Mor­rinsville started strongly with two tries dur­ing the first half by Ben Fos­ter and Harper Law­son. Dur­ing the sec­ond half Tom Hornsey man­aged to cap­i­talise on a huge break away by Caleb Gar­rett. And again, Tom scored later in the half to se­cure the win for the team with a final score 20-5. Play­ing the Tri­tons sec­ond up was chal­leng­ing with the op­po­si­tion man­ag­ing to gain a 10-0 lead by half­time. How­ever, dur­ing the sec­ond half the boys held more pos­ses­sion and man­aged to hold strong, nei­ther side break­ing the de­fence that half to score. Even af­ter their first loss the boys ran off smil­ing.

Day 2 was chilly but the rain held off for the Year 5 team’s first game against Mata­mata. Hav­ing beaten Mata­mata by 3 points at a pre-tour­na­ment game, the boys knew they were go­ing to be tough
