Get along to the games
The youth-focused, family-friendly, Whanau Games Day event is set to take place this Saturday October 14 at the Morrinsville College grounds.
Organisers want to see as many members of the community there as possible to join in the fun.
The event has been organised by He Herenga Tangata, a collaborative group of local organisations including social service agencies, community groups and the police.
Similar to the old ‘ top-town’ style events, the day will include a range of competitive activities with teams earning points to claim the top prize.
Prizes include team trips to Auck- land’s Rainbows End, Rotorua’s Motion Entertainment Centre, family movie passes, as well as individual spot prizes and much, much more.
The event is free to attend sp get along and show your support.
Lunch will be participants.
Sixteens teams will be taking part and activities will vary and are suitable for all abilities, from toddlers to grandparents, and everyone in-between.
Jarrod Hunt from Te Manawa Ora said the aim of the event is to promote an opportunity for young people to engage in a positive way with their whanau and the wider community.
