Waikato win­ners at ar­chi­tec­ture awards

Four Waikato ar­chi­tects picked up awards at the NZ Ar­chi­tec­ture Awards. The four were recog­nised for their de­signs, which in­cluded a her­itage build­ing, a town­house, a newly de­signed church and a univer­sity build­ing. one big space where you feel like you’re out­side, but you’re still in­side.

‘‘It shows your can build a warm, bright, fun house in those lo­ca­tions. There are also ben­e­fits liv­ing close to town. We walk to town, to school, so it’s re­ally great.’’

A town­house in Cam­bridge, sit­u­ated in an in­dus­trial area close to town, picked up a House Award at the NZ Ar­chi­tec­ture Awards. The home was de­signed by ar­chi­tect Christo­pher Beer.
