Ti Point wharf
Village beside a deep water channel
Ti Point offers safe anchorage from nor-easterly winds behind it’s headland. It has permanent boat moorings and, of course, the wharf, that’s popular to fish from. Ti Point is about 20 minutes drive from Warkworth, turn right in to Ti Point Rd which bursts into gravel for the last few kilometres. Languishing on the village hillside are about 40 homes ranging from original baches to the more modern, most with stunning views toward Whangateau Harbour, Omaha and Point Wells. Parking before the wharf is limited but there is a wonderful reserve along the foreshore that has a great walking track. After about 20 minutes walk there’s a cliff-face that is now a favoured destination with abseilers. Ti Point is also home to the Reptile Park that’s situated in a secluded valley covered with native bush overlooking the ocean. The park displays an unusual collection of native and exotic reptiles while still maintaining the natural surroundings. Enjoy a pleasant walk and discover the fascinating creatures in spacious enclosures which have been landscaped to the individual requirements of the occupants.
