Point Wells is a sleepy seaside village 15km northeast of Warkworth. The mix of modern homes and traditional holiday baches sit on flat land at the end of a broad headland within the upper Whangateau Harbour and west of the Waikokopu Creek. It’s home to a permanent population of about 400 people, mostly retirees and families. Point Wells has a store, community hall, a popular cafe on the main road into the village, and a boat ramp. It’s the perfect haven for people who love boating and fishing. It’s next door to Omaha’s beautiful surf beach, and is only a five minute drive to Matakana’s shops, cinema complex and Saturday Farmers’ market. The village is close to the Tawharanui Regional Park, Goat Island Marine Reserve and the various restaurants and vineyards in the Matakana area.
