Peaceful seaside bay
Baddeleys is a small bay close to Tawharanui Regional Park. Just follow the signs to the regional park but turn right off Takatu Rd on to Baddeleys Bay Rd and head for the coast. The seaside spot has a mixture of traditional and modern Kiwi baches with a tiny permanent population. It’s about seven minutes drive from the popular Matakana Village with its Saturday Farmers’ market, shops, cafes and movie theatre. There’s a high tide boat ramp for boaties, communal tennis court, childrens’ playground and public toilets. Or boaties can launch at next door Campbells Bay which is about a two minute drive. The area has plenty of tui, wood pigeons and fantails. The beach is also close to Omaha surf beach, the Goat Island Marine Reserve, and Scandrett Regional Park, which is not far from Snells Beach.
