Rodney neighbourhoods are being canvassed in a search for homes built in the last 15 years with Shadowclad plywood cladding. Auckland law firm
Adina Thorn is considering a class action against Shadowclad manufacturers Carter Holt Harvey, out of concerns the product is defective. Adina Thorn is calling for homeowners to register if their home was built with Shadowclad, whether or not there are any problems. It has started a campaign on Neighbourly.co.nz to encourage registrations. If there is sufficient interest from owners with viable claims, the firm will look at a class action, which it expects to be fully funded, at no cost to homeowners.
